Description Engine 38-1 is a 1949 Model LS 85 Mack Pumper. It goes without saying that the "49", as it is affectionately known, is the pride of Station 38's fleet. The "49" proudly served the East Greenville Fire Department from the day it was delivered in 1949 until it was placed out of service in 1989. The "49" now serves the Company as a goodwill ambassador, responding only to parades, community events and fire apparatus musters. As the saying goes at the station and as you can see from the picture above, the "49" does not take a bad picture. The "49" is currently cared for by a group of dedicated Engineers and adoring Firefighters. It is guaranteed that the "49" will be a member of our family well into the future.
